Meet The Team

Dr Alicia Brown

Hello and welcome. I’m Dr Alicia Brown and I am an HCPC registered clinical psychologist.

Experience

I have over 10 years’ experience working in both NHS and private mental health services. During my career I have helped adults with a wide range of mild to severe psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, adjustment to long-term health conditions, stress and sleep problems. Most recently I have worked in health psychology as a Senior Clinical Psychologist and supported adults with the psychological effects of living with long-term health conditions such as chronic pain and cancer.

Approcah

I understand it can be daunting coming to see a psychologist and therefore I initially prioritise building the therapeutic relationship. I have a warm, empathic approach to try and help you feel at ease. I offer a non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about your difficulties. I will work with you to gain a shared understanding of what is maintaining your problems. We will then discuss a tailored plan to try and help you achieve your goals. This often involves using a blend of different therapies to find the right fit for your individual needs.
