What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness based therapies help you focus on your thoughts and feelings as they happen moment by moment – it can be easy to rush through life without stopping to notice much. Becoming more aware of the present moment can help us enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better. The goal of mindfulness is to wake up to the inner workings of our mental, emotional, and physical processes.Contact Us Today
Mindfulness encourages us to notice things that we don't normally see as our heads are so full of what is happening in the future or happened in the past. When your mind is in a state of relaxation it can help increase your clarity and perception. This in turn can help you regulate your emotions and manage thoughts and feelings in a more calm way, allowing you to process thoughts more effectively.
Mindfulness can be a stand alone approach; however, more commonly it is used alongside other therapy approaches such as CBT, ACT and CFT. Contact us if you would like to discuss mindfulness further.
